“Yeeeeeeeesssss!” she sang out, intermingled with peeles of delightful, musical, 6 year old little girl laughter. Shaking her head and her hair out the open car window like a happy dog. The wind in her face was a treat in itself, so very much more exciting than her safe backseat in her mom’s minivan. We sped up just enough, to do a little “jump” as we hit the small hill in the road, breaking the rules of gravity for just a moment... We both loved that tickle in her stomache that happened when we caught “hang time”, sending her into uncontrollable giggles...
You know THAT feeling.
Years later, I would remember this experience with that child as a moment of PURE JOY - a moment in time where everything was “perfect”. Not that everything in our lives was perfect, far from it.
